PETALS CLASS SUNDAY 9th NOVEMBER
This is a class that teaches many techniques so is very useful for future projects as well as making something great on the day. Half square triangles, raw edge appliqué, using fusible bonding and quilting. Please see the quilt in the shop for details. You will have an 18 inch piece of work at the end of the day, perfect for a really special cushion front.
You will need your own machine, sewing supplies, free motion quilting foot, rotary cutter, mat and ruler. And your lunch. Cost of class includes all fabrics and wadding.
FREE MOTION QUILTING SUNDAY 23rd NOVEMBER
This one day class teaches the techniques involved in free motion quilting. Don't be scared now! You will need your own machine and you MUST have a free motion quilting foot. Please check it fits and works before you come to class. You will also need sewing supplies and your lunch. All fabrics included in the cost.
WONKY STAR CHRISTMAS PROJECT SUNDAY 30th NOVEMBER
This class teaches the wonky star technique which is fast and fun. There will be a number of items you can make from your finished blocks. There will be a choice of kit on the day from the Christmas ranges we have in the shop. You will need your own machine, mat, cutter and ruler if you have them, basic sewing supplies and your lunch.

The class runs for 5 weeks, 6.30 to 7.30pm in the shop. You will learn all the basic stitches, increase and decrease, granny squares, japanese crochet, flowers and much more. Tea, coffee and cake provided, handouts given every week.
Cost: £35 includes free ball of yarn and hook to get you started. All you need to bring is yourself!
INTERMEDIATE CROCHET with MAUREEN MCILWRAITH
Wednesday 8th October
Class runs for 5 weeks, 6.30 to 7.30 in the shop. You will learn more advanced stitches, chevrons, waves, popcorns and bobbles. This is a great follow on from beginners or a stand alone class for those who know the basics already.
Cost: £35 includes free ball of yarn.
ADVANCED CROCHET with MAUREEN MCILWRAITH
Wednesday 12th November
Class runs for 5 weeks. Each week you will be given a pattern. Maureen will start you off and run through any difficult or new techniques and you will be able to finish off at home. Examples of things done in the past are mittens, socks, hats, scarf and many more. Please note, you may need to purchase extra yarn for these classes. The timing of this class is deliberate as it can lead to multiple Christmas presents being made!
As with all our classes your place is booked by payment in full in advance please. Some classes fill quickly so do book early to avoid disappointment.

It's been a while! I have some changes to the class list posted earlier in the year, some additions and a couple of date changes as life does it's thing and gets in the way!
So this is the list as it stands now, subject to change but hopefully not.
JAPANESE FOLDED PATCHWORK SUNDAY 18th MAY
This is a technique class. At the end of the day you will have something similar to this picture to make into something lovely, Brioni will have some ideas for you and we have a gorgeous bag on display as an example.
You will need a hand sewing kit as there is very little machine work (we'll have a couple of machines set up to use on the day) pen, pencil, ruler, glue stick, iron plus mini board or pad if you have one and your lunch.
Cost: £30 for the day includes all fabrics.
SPIDERWEB PATCHWORK SUNDAY 8th and 15th JUNE
Come along and learn the very satisfying technique of the spiderweb block. You will need your own machine and to know how to use it, usual sewing supplies, rotary cutter mat and ruler and your lunch. All fabrics are included in the price of the class. At the end of the two days you will have a pile of blocks to do something fabulous with!
ENGLISH PAPER PIECING SUNDAY 6th JULY
A lovely class to learn this technique of hand sewing patchwork together. No machine needed for this class and lots of different patterns to choose from - it's not just hexagons! If you have been before you can still do this class again as this time we will have some different patterns. All the quilts shown in this picture are EPP. You will need a hand sewing kit including scissors, pen, pencil, ruler, glue stick and your lunch. Fabrics included in cost of class.
BAG CLASS SUNDAY 20th JULY
PIcture to follow. This is a new class to make a large bag which is perfect for your cutting mat and all your class supplies. All fabrics and wadding included in price of class. You will need your own machine, sewing supplies, mat cutter and ruler and also your walking foot and / or free motion quilting foot depending on how you want to quilt the bag. Don't forget your lunch!
BEGINNERS QUILT CLASS SUNDAY 14th and 21st SEPTEMBER
This is a great class teaching all the techniques from start to finish. Cutting, piecing, basting, quilting and binding. You will make a version of the pattern above with a choice of many different kits, everything included in the price of the class. If you've done beginners before you can still do this class, different pattern, different piecing techniques, same great bargain kit! Kit is worth over £65 and includes top quality fabrics, 100 per cent cotton wadding.
You will need your own machine and to know how to use it, basic sewing supplies, rotary cutter, mat and ruler (don't worry if you don't have these yet we have some to borrow if needs be and of course we have them in stock if you decide to buy) you will also need your lunch. For day two you MUST HAVE A WALKING FOOT for your machine. This is essential.
At the end of the class you will have a finished quilt (or almost, maybe a little binding to finish by hand) and you will have all the knowledge you need to go off and make your own quilts!
SLASHED NINE PATCH PATCHWORK SUNDAY 5th and 12th OCTOBER

Please see examples in the shop. This one day class teaches the techniques involved in free motion quilting. Don't be scared now! You will need your own machine and you MUST have a free motion quilting foot (darning foot) for your machine, please check it fits before you come to class. Please bring sewing kit and your lunch. All fabrics included.
All classes run in the shop from 9.30am to 4pm. Your place is booked by payment in full in advance please. For classes more than 1 month in advance please call us to add your name to the class list. This is a great class which teaches all the basic techniques to make a quilt from start to finish so you then have enough knowledge to go off and do something else on your own. The cost is £100 for the two days INCLUDING the kit to make the whole quilt with 100 per cent cotton wadding. If you have done a beginners quilt class with us before please feel free to do this one too if you wish, it is a different pattern to any we've done before therefore different techniques involved, plus you get to take advantage of the kit worth £65 plus!
You will need your own machine and to know how to use it, you'll also need a walking foot for day 2 of the class, basic sewing supplies and a a packed lunch. If you have a rotary cutter, mat and ruler then do please bring your own, we will have a limited number of these available to borrow on the day, they are also available for purchase in the shop if you want your own.

As we have made the list available for the whole year which is different for us, we're trying something new, you can register your interest and we will put your name and details on a list. Closer to the time of the class we will post a reminder on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and the blog that it is time to secure your place by paying in full in advance.
This is done on a first come first served basis, you can of course pay for your class as far in advance as you like to be sure of a place, some customers have done this already. Not to be pushy but the string pieced star class was full before I had even advertised it and we could have filled it twice over so if you want to be sure, book in advance!
